This document explores the process for hydrogen projects going through the planning system, identifies the barriers associated with obtaining planning permission, and also proposes potential short-term and long-term solutions for addressing these challenges.

The research was primarily conducted through interviewing both government / regulatory officials and hydrogen stakeholders who have been exposed to the planning process.

It will be of interest to hydrogen economy stakeholders, including:
