Home-to-school travel and transport statutory guidance


This is for:

  • local authorities
  • schools maintained by the local authority
  • academies
  • free schools
  • other organisations involved in home-to-school transport (for example, transport providers)

The guidance applies to children and young people aged up to 18 receiving education or training in England.

Statutory guidance sets out what schools and local authorities must do to comply with the law. You should follow the guidance unless you have a very good reason not to.
