These draft assessment procedures for consumer connections detail the activities to be undertaken to provide assurance that the obligations in the Heat Network Technical Assurance Scheme (HNTAS) Technical Specifications are fulfilled.
A consumer connection is the connection between a distribution network (either district or communal) and a single consumer heat system.
The documents are for use by:
- heat network assessors
- heat network developers
- heat network designers
- heat network operators
These assessment procedures correspond to the draft HNTAS technical specifications for consumer connections.

We will be requesting feedback on the information in these documents shortly. We will run a change management process in parallel with the HNTAS technical standards consultation which will launch shortly.
