These reports set out the findings of the commissioner’s reviews and make recommendations for the improvement of children’s social care services in Herefordshire.

They follow reports by Ofsted that judged the overall effectiveness of the council’s children’s services to be inadequate.

The Department for Education issued a statutory direction to Herefordshire Council in September 2022. Revised directions were issued in 2023 and 2025.

The last of these directions has been revoked and a final report is available.
