Monitor believes that the proposed acquisition is the best available solution to the problems faced at Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the most likely way to achieve the necessary improvements to services for patients.

CMA clears merger

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) cleared the proposed merger on 14 May 2014 and published the full text of its decision on 3 June 2014.
