Details

Under the Regulations, the operators of heat networks must submit notifications to the Secretary of State or, in relation to a Scottish network, the Scottish Ministers, for the heat networks they operate.

The notifications include information about the heat network’s location, capacity, and supply figures. These notifications are submitted to the Department for Business and Trade’s Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) who are also responsible for enforcement of the Regulations.

After the initial notification, heat suppliers must submit a renotification within every four-year period thereafter, in respect of all networks that they operate.
