Details

This report and its annexes provide the first country-level assessment for England of the implementation of conservation measures taken for the habitat types and species listed in the Habitats Directive and Wild Birds Directive.

The report is required every 6 years by Regulation 9A of the Conservation of Habitat and Species Regulations 2017 (as amended). It assesses:

• conservation measures taken
• their impact
• pressures on habitats and species
• monitoring carried out for the period 2019 to 2024

The data assessments which underpin the report will be available to view by end of February 2026 at Natural England Access to Evidence.

The Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC) have published the UK Offshore Implementation report as required by Regulation 6A of The Conservation of Offshore Marine Habitats and Species Regulations 2017.

As also required by Regulation 9A of the Conservation of Habitat and Species Regulations, a UK Composite report will be published by 2028. This will include an evaluation of progress achieved and the contribution of the national site network to the conservation status of habitat types and species.

Previous UK-level Article 12 and Article 17 reports under the Wild Birds Directive and Habitats Directive were published by the Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC).
