UK visas on a Temporary Work route: caseworker guidance

  1. Updated in line with the November 2025 Immigration Rules changes as follows: references to ‘Part 9: Grounds for Refusal’ in this guidance have been updated in line with it being replaced by ‘Part Suitability’; and changes in this guidance will permit seasonal workers to spend no more than 6 months working in the UK during any rolling 10-month period, rather than any rolling 12-month period.

  2. Amended the list of Appendix Skilled Occupation tables eligible for GAE roles to reflect changes to the Immigration Rules.

  3. Amended the minimum rate of hourly pay for Seasonal Workers to reflect the increase in the National Living Wage and National Minimum Wage; information added to reflect the fact that Creative Workers must not be filling a permanent position, even on a temporary basis; added indicators against which the supernumerary requirement can be assessed; minor amendments to reflect the change to the supernumerary definition.

  4. The guidance has been updated to clarify that seasonal workers will continue to be issued with a visa vignette and will not receive an eVisa.

  5. Updated to reflect that biometric residence permits (BRPs) are no longer issued.

  6. Updated the guidance to confirm the quota for 2025 in the Seasonal Worker route.

  7. This guidance has been updated in line with the Autumn 2024 Immigration Rules changes, including a change in evidential requirements of expenses paid to applicants in the Creative Worker route and other minor Immigration Rules changes.

Guidance has been updated to reflect that, for the purposes of the Temporary Work – International Agreement route Contractual Service Supplier and Independent Professional eligibility requirements, applicants who show they have a Swiss Hohere Fachschuldiplom (Swiss Higher Technical College Diploma) meet the requirement to show they have a university degree or equivalent technical qualification.
