This guidance was written to assist those involved in providing, managing and using NHS healthcare facilities to work towards sustainability. It aims to present a wide range of information on sustainable development in an understandable and user-friendly way.

The guidance should be read in conjunction with ‘New environmental strategy for the Health Service’ (NHS Estates).
