This guidance builds on previous information for nature markets and the wider sector published in December 2025 and fulfils the commitment made to Parliament to publish such guidance.
It should be read alongside other guidance on the Nature Restoration Fund issued by the Secretary of State, as well as Natural England’s statutory duties, the Strategic Policy Statement for Natural England, Managing Public Money guidance and other relevant legislation and policy relating to public procurement.
