Government response to Motorists' Forum report on garage customer experience

This government response adopts recommendations from the Motorists' Forum Sub-Group report.



The Department for Transport and the Department for Business Innovation and Skills have worked closely together to produce the government response to the Motorists’ Forum sub-group report.

The government response adopts recommendations from the Motorists’ Forum sub-group report which would help to do the following:

  • build on existing best practice in the industry
  • encourage garages to improve customer service without the burden of extra legislation
  • help promote the wider adoption of self-regulation codes of practice by garages
  • encourage greater publication of information regarding the services they offer
