Guidance

Understanding your ISA report

Published 20 February 2026

As part of the Integrated Scientific Advice (ISA) service the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) have a single report structure.

Timings, receipt and clarifications

Receiving the report

Following the advice meeting MHRA and NICE have 6 weeks to jointly write and review the report.

The report and instructions on how to access it will be sent to the advice enquirer via NICE Docs.

How to request clarification questions

During the process of organising your advice request you will have a named project manager to contact. To ask a clarification question after receiving your report email your contact with your questions. These questions cannot be new. They should only clarify currently requested advice discussed during the Integrated Scientific Advice meeting.
