Gelatine and collagen not intended for human consumption: model health certificates

Competent authorities of exporting countries should use the relevant model health certificate as a template to create a version exporters can apply for to export gelatine and collagen not intended for human consumption to Great Britain, the Channel Islands or Isle of Man.

Gelatine and collagen not intended for human consumption exported to Great Britain must be accompanied by the relevant health certificate. Exporters should read the guide on how to complete a health certificate.

Certificates GBHC101X and GBHC530

Non-EU countries must use certificate GBHC101X from 1 January 2021.

Non-EU countries must use certificate GBHC530 from 30 April 2024.

EU countries must use certificate GBHC530 from 31 January 2024.

Model health certificate for gelatine and collagen not intended for human consumption to be used as feed material or for purposes outside the feed chain (G-C).

Certificates GBHC143X and GBHC531

Non-EU countries must use certificate GBHC143X from 1 January 2021.

Non-EU countries must use certificate GBHC531 from 30 April 2024.

EU countries must use certificate GBHC531 from 31 January 2024.

Model health certificate for gelatine not intended for human consumption to be used by the photographic industry (GP).

  1. We have updated certificate GBHC530. We have also updated the ‘use from’ dates for certificates GBHC530 and GBHC531. Use from date for EU changed to 31 January 2024. Use from date for non-EU countries changed to 30 April 2024.

  2. We have added certificate GBHC531 GP: Gelatine for photography and updated the version history.

  3. We have removed all EU certificates ending in E for gelatine and collagen not intended for human consumption. We are currently in the process of replacing these with new certificates that can be used by all countries. EU countries must use the new certificates from 31 October 2023. Non-EU countries can continue using certificates ending in X or start using the new certificates. We will communicate the deadline for non-EU countries switching to the new certificates in due course.

  4. The previous version of certificates GBHC101X and GBHC101E can be accepted until 1 June 2023.

  5. Updated certificates GBHC101X and GBHC101E. See version history for full details of the changes.

  6. Certificates GBHC101E and GBHC143E should now be used from 31 December 2023. They were previously due to come into effect on 1 July 2022.

  7. We've updated certificates GBHC101X and GBHC143X.

  8. Added a version history of changes to model health certificates.

  9. Changed the date that some of the forms should be used to 1 July 2022.

  10. Uploaded gelatine and collagen health certificates: GBHC101E and GBHC143E. Updated gelatine and collagen health certificates GBHC101X and GBHC143X.
