GCSE reform equality analysis
This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government
This document assesses the effects of GCSE reform on protected groups.
The 3 fundamental strands of the policy that are considered in this equality analysis are:
- the effect of higher performance expectations
- the effect of the subjects offered
- the effect of the proposed assessment characteristics
The relevant protected characteristics are age (except in the case of schools and children’s homes), gender, disability, gender reassignment, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, and sex and sexual orientation.
