This guidance is intended to help awarding organisations understand how to comply with the GCSE (9 to 1) subject-level conditions and requirements for physical education.

All awarding organisations have a legal obligation under section 153 of the Apprenticeships, Skills, Children and Learning Act 2009 to have regard to this guidance.

We have updated our guidance to reflect the new subject content for short-course GCSEs in physical education.
