Freedom of Information request on the total number of Yellow Card reports related to COVID-19 vaccinations submitted (FOI 21/437)

Published 28 June 2021

27th May 2021 FOI 21/437 Dear

Thank you for your two emails dated 21 April 2021 and 18 May 2021, where you requested the total number of Yellow Card reports related to COVID-19 vaccinations submitted from the Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh (WWL) NHS Foundation Trust (postcodes WN1 2NN and WN6 9EP).

We identified a total of 101 Yellow Card reports up to and including 25/05/2021 submitted with a WN1 or WN6 postcode and an address referring to the WWL NHS Foundation Trust where the suspect drug was a COVID-19 vaccine. Please note that reporter address is not a mandatory field and is therefore not always provided to us. Furthermore, if the postcode is incorrectly provided, the Yellow Card will not be included in this analysis. Also, if the reporter has only provided their email address, that report will not be included.

You may also find it useful to know that the MHRA publishes a weekly summary of Yellow Card reporting for the coronavirus vaccines, which can be found on this link: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-vaccine-adverse-reactions/coronavirus-vaccine-summary-of-yellow-card-reporting.

I hope the information provided is helpful, but if you are dissatisfied with the handling of your request, you have the right to ask for an internal review. Internal review requests should be submitted within two months of the date of this response; and can be addressed to this email address.

Yours sincerely, FOI Team, Vigilance and Risk Management of Medicines Division
