The Coalition Government has responded to the Constitution Committee’s report on the Fixed-term Parliaments Bill.
Minister for Political and Constitutional Reform Mark Harper wrote in a Written Ministerial Statement:
“The Constitution Committee’s 8th report summarised its inquiry into the Bill and I am grateful to the Committee for the careful scrutiny they have given the Bill. Today the Government has responded to the Committee’s report by means of a Command Paper which has been laid before both Houses of Parliament.”
