The Burma (Sanctions) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 ensure sanctions relating to Burma are implemented effectively after the UK leaves the EU.

This sanctions regime is aimed at encouraging the Burma security forces to comply with international human rights law and to respect human rights. The Regulations impose asset freezes on members of the Burma Security Forces who have been identified as being responsible for serious human rights violations in Burma.
