These modifications amend the index by which tariff rates under the Feed-in Tariff (FIT) scheme are adjusted for inflation annually. 

Following a public consultation in accordance with section 42(1) of the Energy Act 2008, the Secretary of State has taken the decision to change the index used to adjust tariff rates from the Retail Price Index to the Consumer Price Index.

This switch will be applied to future annual tariff adjustments from the 2026 to 2027 FIT Year onwards.
