Slurry items and specifications - Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF) 2025

Published 7 May 2025

Applies to England

Each item in this list has an expected average cost, based on item costs from a cross-section of suppliers.

The Rural Payments Agency (RPA) will pay you a grant amount of 50% towards either:

  • the average cost of the item – if an item costs you the same or more than the expected average cost in this list
  • the actual cost you pay for the item– if an item costs you less than the average cost in this list

How applications for slurry items are scored

Applications for slurry items are scored on:

  • improving slurry management
  • environmental benefit
  • level of adoption by the industry

Each slurry item has a score up to 100.

RPA will give your application a score by:

  • adding together the scores for each item in your application - if you apply for more than one of the same item, the item will only be scored once
  • dividing this number by the number of items in your application - if you apply for more than one of the same item, the item will only be counted once

When you apply for a Slurry grant tell RPA if your SBI has received less than £10,000 of Productivity and Slurry funding from any previous FETF rounds. This can increase your application score by 25%.

This applies to the total funding received from FETF Round 1 2022 (any items), FETF 2023 (Productivity and Slurry items) and FETF 2024 (Productivity and Slurry items). This does not include any funding from FETF 2023 (Animal Health and Welfare items) or FETF 2024 (Animal Health and Welfare items).

Example 1

1 x FETF501: mobile slurry separator (item score 65)

Application score: 65

Example 2

1 × FETF33: dribble bar (item score 63)

2 × FETF38: umbilical reeler for slurry application (item score 51)

1 × FETF29: real-time in line nutrient analyser (item score 78)

Application score: 64 (63 + 51 + 78 = 192. 192 ÷ 3 = 64)

If you have received or expect to receive FETF funding of less than £10,000 and applied for an uplift, your application score would be:

64 × 1.25 = 80
