On 1 February 2023 the UK introduced 2 new design visa vignettes: for Entry Clearance and for Certificate of Entitlement. The new vignettes are based on the same technical specifications as the previous versions but with several improvements and enhanced security features.
The UK continued to issue old and new design vignettes in parallel until 31 December 2023, when the old design ceased to be issued. From 1 January 2024, the UK only issued the new design vignettes.
The UK stopped issuing all vignettes from 1 July 2026. Successful applicants now only receive digital evidence of their immigration status. This includes an eVisa, a digital certificate of entitlement, or a digital record of exemption.
All UK vignettes remain valid for use until the expiry of their valid-until dates.
