Details

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) supports the decarbonisation of heating in domestic properties by incentivising the deployment of low carbon heating systems. The original duration of the BUS (2022 to 2025) is subject to an evaluation.

These reports and data tables present the final evaluation findings, including research conducted with property owners who installed a low‑carbon heating (LCH) system using the BUS grant.

This is the final publication of the BUS evaluation, following the first interim report published in 2025 and the second published earlier in 2026.

Topics covered in these outputs include:

• property owners’ experiences of participating in the BUS
• property owners’ satisfaction with their LCH systems after one heating season
• whether property owners experienced changes in bills and energy tariffs
• participation in the BUS by installer companies
• the impact of BUS on LCH installations
• employment and wider sectorial impacts of the BUS
• value for money of the BUS
