ETC Awards Ltd (ETCAL) Likely failure to comply with conditions H6.1(d), I4.2(a) and I4.2(b) Direction given Closed 23 January 2018

On 16 October 2017 Ofqual gave a direction to ETCAL following an investigation. The direction prevented ETCAL from issuing any results or certificates or registering any new learners until it had demonstrated that it had the capacity to make sure results were accurate and certificates were valid.

ETCAL has now been acquired by another organisation and Ofqual is working with the new owners as they make sure ETCAL will operate in accordance with the conditions in the future. As part of this process, we have replaced the direction with additional conditions (special conditions).

Ofqual has kept the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) and the Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA) informed throughout this case.
