1. Information: high needs place change notification 2019 to 2020

We have published the high needs place change notification outcomes that will inform the funded place numbers for academic year 2019 to 2020 in academies, free schools, further education colleges and independent learning providers.

We have also published information about how to query the 2019 to 2020 place numbers during the enquiry window, which closes on Friday 8 February 2019.

2. Information: updated 2018 to 2019 dedicated schools grant allocations

We have updated the 2018 to 2019 dedicated schools grant (DSG) allocations to take account of the latest schools block recoupment for schools that converted up to and on 1 January 2019.

The updated allocations are for the DSG payments from 5 February 2019 to 5 March 2019.

These payments also include the £125 million increase in the high needs block announced in December 2018. We will make a final update for schools block recoupment and high needs place deductions for the final 2018 to 2019 payment on Friday 22 March 2019.

3. Information: additional capital funding for 2018 to 2019

At Budget 2018, the Chancellor announced an extra £400 million capital funding for schools in 2018 to 2019. This is in addition to the £1.4 billion already allocated this year to those responsible for school buildings.

We have published the final allocation amounts for individual schools and other eligible institutions. These allocations are for individual schools, although in many cases payments will be routed via local authorities, dioceses or multi-academy trusts for them to pass on to schools, as with Devolved Formula Capital.

We plan to make payments on Friday 1 February 2019.

4. Information: national deal for agency supply teachers

On 14 January 2019 the Secretary of State for Education, Damien Hinds, announced the launch of an online tool as the latest development of the agency supply teacher deal.

More information is available to see how your school could benefit from this deal.
