NHS Chief Executive Sir David Nicholson has written to the chief executive community giving an update on transition arrangements with a particular focus on the new commissioning system and providing answers to some frequently asked questions on the Health and Social Care Bill.
This letter includes guidance on the Retention and Exit Terms Scheme. This guidance has been developed to help retain those staff fulfilling business critical roles to sustain business continuity during the transition and Assignment for Transition guidance. This guidance outlines the process of aligning PCT employees during the transition to support the development of emerging GP consortia and associated commissioning support functions. Q&A is currently being developed to support employers and staff to understand better the Assignment for Transition guidance. This will be made available on the Social Partnership Forum website.
