Details

The triennial review of the Environment Agency (EA) and Natural England (NE) was published in June 2013. The review concluded that EA and NE should stay as separate public organisations with separate purposes and functions. The triennial review also concluded that both organisations need to continue to improve customer service and efficiency by working more closely together.

EA and NE published a Joint Action Plan in December 2013, setting out how they would achieve this. A wide range of customers were consulted as the plan was developed.

The progress report (published November 2014) describes what EA and NE have achieved so far. It includes both actions in the Joint Action Plan and other opportunities that they both identified to work together.

Both organisations will continue to look for opportunities to work together for the benefit of people and the environment.
