Assessment of proposal to allow the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) to suspend consumer credit licences to protect consumers.



Assesses the costs and benefits of proposals to give the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) the power to suspend a consumer credit licence with immediate effect, where there is an urgent need to protect the interests of consumers.

This proposal is in response to recommendations in the Business, Innovation & Skills Select Committee report on debt management.
