Details
On 22 January 2020, Natural England submitted a collection of reports to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs setting out the proposals for improved access to the coast between Harwich and Shotley Gate (HSG).
The opportunity to comment closed at midnight on Wednesday, 18 March 2020. You can no longer make a representation or objection on proposals.
All representations and objections were considered before the Secretary of State made a final decision about the reports.

Outcome
On 31 August 2021 the Secretary of State approved the proposals for lengths HSG1 and HSG4.
On 18 September 2025 the Secretary of State approved the proposals for lengths HSG2, HSG3, HSG5 and HSG6.
Natural England will publish further details of the approved route in due course.
