1. Update: traineeships eligible provider list

Education Funding Agency (EFA) and Skills Funding Agency have published the latest update to the eligible provider list on GOV.UK. The list is a key tool for referral agencies to show which eligible providers are intending to deliver in their area.

2. Information: Individualised Learner Record (ILR) R06

The ILR R06 collection for the funding year 2014 to 2015 opens on Thursday 22 January and will close at 6pm on Thursday 5 February 2015.

This is a key return for EFA funded institutions and if you are due to make a return for R06, you must submit your data to the Hub A new maintenance schedule, listing forthcoming collection dates and proposed system maintenance windows is available on GOV.UK.

Please note that improvements have been made to the ‘English and maths GCSE status‘ reports in FIS and online in order to bring them in line with the maths and English condition of funding policy. The changes are as follows:

  1. A new category, ‘condition of funding does not apply’, has been added to both the maths and English status fields. This new category includes students under the age of 16, students on a study programme with less than 150 planned hours for the academic year and students who began their study programme prior to the start of the academic year 2014 to 2015 and who have not started a new study programme.

  2. Those students studying maths and English qualifications that do not meet qualifying period set to count toward the condition of funding will now be reflected in the appropriate category.

We will be updating the FIS reports guidance on GOV.UK to detail these changes.

3. Reminder: special post-16 institutions - Individualised Learner Record (ILR) R06 - destination data

We would like to remind special post-16 institutions who did not complete the destination data field in their R04 Individualised Learner Return (ILR) return, to do so in their R06 return. The information is only required for students who completed their programme during the 2013 to 2014 academic year.

These fields are new for 2014 to 2015 and we will use the information collected to contribute to reports on student outcomes.

To support the completion of the ILR, we have published the list of fields for completion by special post-16 institutions This guidance can be found on GOV.UK, and information on destination is on page 10.

4. Information: EFA annual report and accounts
