1. Action: high needs place change notification arrangements for 2017 to 2018

The process to notify the EFA of changes to high needs place numbers for 2017 to 2018 in EFA funded institutions launched today (13 October 2016). The technical note for high needs place change notifications describes how this process works.

Institutions should contact their home local authority directly if they wish to discuss changes to their high needs place numbers, but have not yet been contacted by the authority.

Your local authority is required to submit the completed place change notification workbook by 25 November 2016.

2. Information: land and buildings valuations available

Land and building valuations for all new academies that opened between 1 April 2015 and 31 March 2016, and those academies whose land and buildings were revalued are now available in Document Exchange.

You can access Document Exchange by logging into EFA Information Exchange, and choosing the Document Exchange tab at the top of the page.

You can find your valuation in the Document Exchange ‘finance and payments’ folder under ‘AY 2015-16’. For support and guidance about EFA Information Exchange, please visit our support page.

This valuation is for information only, and academies do not need to do anything with it.

You can find more information of how we prepare land and buildings valuations and how they may be used on GOV.UK.

New academies should complete and submit the land and buildings valuation form to EFA within 6 weeks of opening.

3. Action: EFA customer reference group

We recognise that all of our customers are busy and we strive to get our interaction with you, and yours with us, right first time. The best way for us to achieve this is to ask for your input by becoming a member of our refreshed customer reference group.

We want to build a reference group that is representative of the providers we work with, and consists of individuals who deal with us directly in their role. The group will be asked to input on all aspect of EFA’s work and at different stages in development, implementation and delivery. As a member, you would simply contribute where your experience fits.

The reference group will be largely run through an online forum, but we will also hold face-to-face meetings as appropriate.

To launch the reference group, we would like to invite you join a webinar launching the online forum. There are two options.

The password to register: EFACRG

If you would like to join the group but are unable to attend either webinar, please contact us via our online enquiry form.
