1. Information: Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) loan calculator

Education Funding Agency (EFA) has added a loan calculator to the Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) page on GOV.UK for academies and sixth-form colleges thinking of taking out a loan as part of their CIF proposal.

There is still time to register for the CIF webinar at 2pm on Monday 17 November.

2. Information: changes to the sub contracting arrangements for 2015 to 2016

We have published information on the changes to sub contracting arrangements for 2015 to 2016 on GOV.UK. We will publish the full controls guidance for 2015 to 2016 before the end of December 2014.

3. Information: survey of institutions making provision for high needs students

EFA would like to take stock of the current situation in relation to decisions around top up funding, payments and contracting at all institutions where local authorities commission places for post-16 high needs students.

Please complete a short questionnaire. It will only take a few minutes to complete. Should you have any questions about the survey please contact your EFA territorial team.

4. Information: how to use the EFA Information Exchange

We’ve uploaded a short video to introduce the EFA Information Exchange and to help you get started with using it. You can see instructions on how to log on to the Information Exchange via the Department for Education Secure Access portal on GOV.UK.

We have updated our advice on the protection of school playing fields and public land.

The changes will be of interest to local authorities, governing bodies, foundation bodies, trustees, diocesan authorities, voluntary bodies, academies and sports organisations.
