Letter from the Under Secretary of State for Children and Families Edward Timpson, to the Coventry Safeguarding Children Board, about their ‘Deeper analysis report’ into the failures that led to the death of Daniel Pelka.

In the letter the minister states that:

  • the report gives him more confidence that the root causes of any failures are understood
  • he trusts that Coventry Safeguarding Children Board and agencies will be rigorous in implementing the required changes to practice so that vulnerable children are better protected
