2. How you can help with the current wildfire risk

If you discover a wildfire:

  • get to a safe place
  • call 999 and ask for the Fire and Rescue Services (FRS)
  • tell Fire Control about the location, size and any relevant information about the fire *meet the FRS at an agreed entrance point

The current warm and dry weather is increasing the risk of wildfires across England. Please help our emergency services and follow these instructions if you spot one.

We’re putting out social media messages on our channels to spread awareness of the actions you can take. If you can please share these with your networks and help spread the message on your social chanels.

4. British Quality Wild Venison Webinar – an introduction to the scheme and how to apply

4.1 Find out about the scheme and book on to our webinar below!

 The British Wild Venison Working Group, aims to enhance the wild venison market for the benefit of the sector, increasing sector capacity, transparency, and venison sales. 
 
On the 13 July from 7:00 - 8:00pm we will be hosting a webinar will support the launch of the ‘British Quality Wild Venison Standard’ which took place this Spring and provide an opportunity to ask questions relating to the scheme and discover how it will support the production of high quality venison in the sector.  Booking is essential, see the details and link to book via Eventbrite.
 
The British Quality Wild Venison Standard has been developed by a cross-sector working group, including the Forestry Commission (Chair), Grown in Britain, Forestry England, Natural Resources Wales, National Game Dealers Association, British Association for Shooting and Conservation, British Deer Society and the National Gamekeepers Organisation.  SAI Global will administer applications for the Standard and award certificates to those who can demonstrate they meet the required brief. Grown in Britain will have oversight of the Standard.
