This regulatory position statement (RPS) does not change your legal requirement to:

• complete waste transfer notes when you transfer your business waste to a wholesaler or retailer at a takeback point
• complete hazardous waste consignment notes when you transfer your business waste to a wholesaler or retailer at a takeback point

However, the Environment Agency will not normally take enforcement action if you do not comply with these legal requirements if you meet the requirements in this RPS.

This regulatory position does not apply to any other legal requirements.

   This RPS has been reviewed and extended until 30 September 2027 when phase 2 of digital waste tracking will be implemented.
