British Steel has been operating a small-scale production line for zinc coated rail for some time; however, the capacity of the original line was previously below the required threshold to require permitting as a Schedule 1 activity. To reduce the emission limits for Large Combustion Plants (LCPs) 341, 342 and 343 due to a change in the fuel blend.
