A direction instructs a local authority to take steps following the failure of their social care services.
This direction requires the council to co-operate with a commissioner appointed by the Secretary of State.
It follows publication on 27 June 2016 of a report by Ofsted which judged the overall effectiveness of Bromley’s children’s social care services as inadequate.
