This direction required the council to apply its improvement plan effectively and to co-operate with the Secretary of State and the Department for Education’s (DfE) advisers.
It followed an Ofsted report, published on 27 March 2015, which found the council’s children’s social care services to be ‘inadequate’ for a second time.
