Details
This direction requires the council to take a number of steps to improve its children’s social care services. It follows publication on 5 June 2015 of a report by Ofsted which judged the overall effectiveness of children’s services in Sandwell to be inadequate.
The direction also follows an earlier statutory direction issued to the council on 22 July 2014.
This direction has now closed. A direction issued by DfE on 6 October 2016 replaces it.
