1. Information: Academies chart of accounts 2025 to 2026
For the attention of academy trust finance staff and auditors.
We have published the new version of the academies chart of accounts (CoA) for the financial year 2025 to 2026 and updated the accompanying account code guidance.
The change control tab of the spreadsheet includes all the 2025 to 2026 changes, highlighted in yellow, on the academies CoA and within section 5 of the ‘Guide to adopting the academies chart of accounts’.
We will also be running technical update webinars in which you’ll hear about all the academies CoA updates and associated actions for trusts.

2. Information: DfE Connect is now available to multi-academy trusts
DfE Connect is now available to multi-academy trusts, in the same way as for individual pre-16 academies.
DfE Connect brings together DfE services and guidance in one place, helping school and trust staff save time, make confident decisions and get better value from public money.
Multi-academy trusts have access to information as if they are signed in as a pre-16 academy. They can:
- find the latest funding opportunities and allocations
- access policies, regulations and compliance guidance in one place
- easily check deadlines to ensure submissions are made on time
Start using DfE Connect today.
This is a first step in supporting your trust through DfE Connect and we are planning to develop more tailored and personalised features for trusts in the future.
