This report provides findings from 2 surveys designed to help monitor:
- trends in the number of requests for delayed entry into reception for summer born children
- local authorities’ approach to handling requests
It also helps to understand parents’ and carers’ reasons for requesting delayed entry for their summer born children as well as their demographics and childcare arrangements.
This report provides an update to research published in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2023.
