The Environment Agency has received an application to vary an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 involving substantial change to a permit from Scrapco Metal Recycling Limited.

1.16.16 The application is to vary the permit to add multiple hazardous and non-hazardous metal bases waste codes to the permit. Metal window frames will be added for treatment in the shredder. Some of these waste codes relate to non-hazardous WEEE and will be treated by shearing. This operation requires the addition of a separate mixed metals activity being added to the permit. The applicant has confirmed that the site will comply with and remain under Industrial Emissions Directive limits and remain a waste operations.
