The Environment Agency has received a new bespoke application for an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 from Cory Environmental Holdings Limited.

This application is for a permit for the following activity: 6.10 A(1)(a) Capture of carbon dioxide streams from an installation for the purposes of geological storage pursuant to Directive 2009/31/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the geological storage of carbon dioxide. The activity subject to this application will form part of the installation together with the Riverside Resource Recovery and Riverside Energy Park plants, permits EPR/BK0825IU and EPR/EP3245QR respectively.

- a summary of the management system
- an environmental risk assessment
- proposed operating techniques, including an assessment of best available techniques
- management plans to address any key risks
- modelling and monitoring of any significant emissions to air, land or water

- raw material usage and measures for energy efficiency and avoiding waste production
