We have received a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 for the following:
How many offences have been recorded that are classed as cyber crime or, as you state in your own reports, “cyber-enabled fraud”.
We released the following information on 18 December 2012.
Action Fraud has recorded cyber enabled information since late 2011 and the breakdown of the last year (December 2011 to November 2012) recorded two types of cyber crime reports, cyber enabled fraud and Computer Misuse Act offences. Over the last year, Action Fraud received 41,403 cyber enabled fraud and 5,011 computer misuse crime reports.
