The Environment Agency has received a new bespoke application for an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 from Plasgran Limited.

This application is for a bespoke environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting Regulations (England and Wales) 2010 for activities that will be carried out by Plasgran Limited, trading as Berry Leamington Spa at their plastic recycling facility, at Units B C, Ashbourne Drive, Leamington Spa, CV31 3SS. The site is proposing to receive plastic waste and to perform a treatment operation on that waste to produce resin and flakes for new plastic products.

The facility is a complete new build on a brownfield site in Leamington Spa, building works commenced Autumn 2021 and the site is due to be operational Winter 2022/ early 2023. The core activity of the site is waste treatment, the site also will be performing directly associated activities of installing a steam boiler in compliance with the Medium Combustion Plant Directive, water treatment plant and discharging to surface waters from the external yard area.
