CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme Order: Table of Conversion Factors

Updated 21 September 2018

Version 8: Published 22 August 2018

Under the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme, participants are obliged to collate information about their energy supplies, submit a report about their energy supplies, and buy and surrender allowances equal to the CO2 emissions they generated. The CRC registry will make the conversion from energy to tonnes of carbon dioxide by application of the relevant emission factor. Emissions factors are set out in the table below.

Phase I

2010/11 to 2013/14

Fuel Type Measurement Unit Emissions Factor kgCO2 / per measurement unit
Electricity kWh 0.5410
Natural Gas* kWh 0.1836

Phase II
