The Environment Agency has received an application to vary an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 involving substantial change to a permit from Viridor Waste Management Limited.

New activity Section 5.4A (a) (ii): physico-chemical treatment of waste – for the operation of a methane stripping plant to treat landfill leachate and run-off from the adjacent recycling facility.

New waste operation for the use of waste for recovery to remediate an area adjacent to the landfill.

Replacement of a landfill gas engine which will be required to meet the requirements of the MCPD legislation.
