You will need to complete this form when applying for the England Woodland Creation Offer (EWCO), if your application includes common land or an area of shared grazing. This supplementary form will be part of your EWCO application.

Before you fill in the form, read the supporting guidance on completing your common land and shared grazing form for EWCO.

You may need to apply for consent from the Planning Inspectorate on behalf of the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, where the work blocks access or alters the land surface. Read carrying out works on common land for more information on the type of work that requires consent and the application process.

There are some exceptions to this, including short term fencing (up to 5 years) or habitat restoration on moorland. For an exemption, you will need to complete a a notice of exemption and send it to the planning inspectorate.
