The statement is likely to be useful to healthcare and public health professionals who wish to inform patients about sources of indoor air pollution and possible risks to health. Other organisations with an interest in the health effects of air pollutants, such as patient groups, health charities and other third sector and medical organisations, may also find it helpful.

Some of the guidance and other information which is signposted within the statement will likely also be of interest to local authorities, regulators and those with responsibility for designing, constructing and maintaining buildings, as well as to the public.
