The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) published the values of the proposed targets for PM2.5 to support its work under the Environment Act (Consultation on environmental targets).

In this statement, the Committee on the Medical Effects of Air Pollutants (COMEAP) raises specific points on the evidence provided in Defra’s report on how the targets were developed and in its accompanying impact analysis, making relevant recommendations to Defra.
