The CMA has responded to DBT’s consultation on refining the UK’s competition regime.

Our strategy for 2026 to 2029 sets out our approach to promote competition and protect consumers, with a clear end goal in mind: to drive economic growth and improve household prosperity.  A core part of our strategy is fostering a UK regulatory landscape that attracts investment and instils business confidence. To support this objective, we have an ongoing programme of work to transform 4 important aspects of how we work: pace, predictability, proportionality and process.

Against this backdrop, our response addresses each of the areas of reform proposed in the consultation.
